Well that went quickly! 

Another end to another Tax Year…how are your records looking? Are you feeling smug that it’s all ready for calculating and filing or are you pretending it doesn’t exist? 

Either way, please remember I’m offering a 10% discount on the final bill of Returns calculated and filed in April and May. 

Get it done early, know the Tax you owe and have nine months to find the money to pay HMRC…instead of panicking after Christmas!

One of the many scams to watch out for…

SOME can look genuine … “your last Tax Return shows you’re due a refund of £283.48″… oh thank you, – terribly authentic email for HMRC, don’t you think? 

Remember – ALWAYS, ALWAYS check the email sender address and be eagle-eyed for poor use of grammar or misspelled words! Never reply and certainly do not click any links or call any number provided. 

If you’re ever unsure call HMRC directly, query the email you’ve received and, if it turns out to be a scam, report the email address to the person handling your call.

The four dreaded letters…SATR

“It’s only 11 weeks and 3 days till Christmas!!!” My festive friend squealed this morning.

My brain breaks this ‘revelation’ down to…

“…yeah?! That means it’s only 16 weeks and 5 days till your Self Assessment Tax Return needs to be filed AND paid!” 

The look of horror when said festive friend realised there’s only 117 days to get all the paperwork together; find all the bank statements, print off all the invoices, track down all the receipts, remember where the online login details are (if that little registration number’s been ticked off the ‘to do’ list) and then, worst of all, spreadsheeting it all, whilst holding down a 60hr a week job…agghhhh!

JS Bookkeeping is expanding

Welcome to the first ever advertising avenue for JS Bookkeeping Services! 

I’ve been very lucky over the last twelve years to have had a constant stream of work through word-of-mouth advertising. I will always believe word-of-mouth is the most effective way to built a client base with a lasting, working relationship. However, due to harnessing the workload down to a part-time job, it is time to swim the shark infested water of internet advertising to build a bigger, better JSBS. 

Sounds terrifying, I know, country-girl gone big-scale! Do not fear faithful, existing clients; this new format will not change the working relationship we already have. 

The services list and pricing remains the same; General day-to-day posting, journaling, reconciliations, Tax Returns, VAT Returns, Accounts preparation, HMRC correspondence, reporting and, of course, email support.

The format also remains the same, whether you prefer taking advantage of my QuickBooks ProAdvisor status, along with the savings perks, Microsoft Excel or the good old shoe box of receipts!
